Community Health Nursing

Community Health Nursing is a vital branch of Nursing Science that focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, and holistic care at the community level. As an important part of the B.Sc. Nursing curriculum, it prepares students to address the health needs of individuals, families, and communities.

Students are provided with many different science backgrounds, a rewarding and challenging program of study.

At CON KMC, the Department of Community Health Nursing emphasizes primary health care, epidemiology, national health programs, community participation, and social determinants of health. Teaching methods include field visits, family surveys, case studies, seminars, health education sessions, group discussions, and project work. Students receive practical training through postings in rural and urban health centers, sub-centers, PHCs, and outreach programs, where they conduct community assessments and implement health interventions.
